Tips to Level Up Your Surveys & Quizzes

Microsoft Forms is a powerful yet simple tool for creating surveys, quizzes, and polls. Whether you’re gathering feedback, running a quick knowledge check, or planning an event, Forms makes it easy. Here are some tips to help you get the most out of it:

Use Branching to Personalize the Experience
Branching allows you to guide respondents based on their answers. For example, if someone selects “No” to a question, you can skip irrelevant follow-ups. This keeps your form clean and user-friendly.
How to do it:
Go to … (More options) > Add branching and set up logic for each question.

Customize Themes for Better Engagement
A visually appealing form can increase response rates. Microsoft Forms lets you choose from preset themes or upload your own background image.
Tip: Use your company branding or a relevant image to make the form feel more professional.

Real-Time Results & Analytics
As responses come in, you can view charts and summaries instantly. For deeper analysis, export results to Excel.
Bonus: Use Excel’s built-in tools to filter, pivot, and visualize data for reports or presentations.

Control Who Can Respond
Need to keep it internal? Set your form to only allow responses from people in your organization. You can also make it anonymous or collect names automatically.
Settings:
Click Settings > Choose who can fill out the form and whether to record names.

Use Quiz Mode for Auto-Grading
Perfect for training or assessments! Quiz mode lets you assign correct answers and points, and Forms will automatically grade submissions.
How to enable:
Create a new form > Click Settings > Turn on Quiz mode.

Bonus Tip: Reuse Questions with Templates
Save time by copying questions from previous forms or using templates. This is especially handy for recurring surveys or evaluations.

Microsoft Forms is more than just a survey tool—it’s a smart way to collect and act on information. Try out these tips and see how much smoother your workflows become!
