Switching managed IT providers in Brisbane
A documented handover protects access, data, systems and staff support while responsibility moves to the new provider.
Most switches take four to six weeks. We coordinate access, Microsoft 365, backups, suppliers and staff communication so the business keeps moving while responsibility changes hands.

When switching becomes the sensible option
A provider change is worth considering when support is consistently slow, the same problems keep returning or nobody seems to own the bigger picture. The goal is not change for its own sake; it is a better-run environment with clearer accountability.
What we handle during the switch
We manage the practical work behind the change, from access and suppliers to staff communication, so there is a clear path from the old service to the new one.
Access and documentation
We collect and verify administrator access, software licences, supplier contracts and available system documentation before old access is removed.
Microsoft 365 and cloud tenancy
We review administrator roles, legacy accounts, security settings and day-to-day ownership while keeping the tenant under your control.
Backup and recovery verification
We document what is backed up, how long it is retained and how recovery works before the handover is treated as complete.
Vendor and supplier contacts
Internet, phone, hardware and software suppliers are mapped, with responsibilities and escalation contacts confirmed.
Staff communication and onboarding
Staff are shown how to request help, who to contact and what will change when the new helpdesk goes live.
First-month stabilisation
During the first month we review the environment, prioritise inherited issues and establish the ongoing maintenance plan.
A switch should leave you better organised
The right handover does more than replace one helpdesk with another. It gives the business clearer ownership, cleaner documentation and a more stable starting point.
A strong fit
Brisbane and South East Queensland businesses with 10 to 100 staff that have an existing provider and want stronger service, clearer ownership or a better technology plan.
Where another model may suit better
Businesses that only need occasional ad-hoc support, or organisations that need an overnight call-centre model rather than a locally managed service.
A controlled handover, week by week
The sequence is adjusted to the environment, but the handover normally follows these four stages.
1
Weeks 1 and 2
Collect access and documentation, meet the outgoing provider where possible, map suppliers and identify urgent risks.
2
Week 3
Transfer administration, review Microsoft 365, verify backups and deploy the agreed monitoring and management tools.
3
Week 4
Brief staff, complete the final access checklist, launch the new helpdesk and remove old provider access after sign-off.
4
Months 2 and 3
Close inherited issues, review the environment and confirm the ongoing maintenance and improvement priorities.
What keeps the handover on track
Good preparation makes the change smoother. We identify missing access, unsupported systems and urgent risks early, then agree on the best way to handle them.
What helps us move quickly
Authorised contacts, available credentials, supplier information, timely decisions and reasonable cooperation from the outgoing provider.
What we may uncover
Urgent remediation, unsupported hardware, missing licences, major security gaps, project work or third-party costs discovered during the handover.
What the switch and ongoing service cost
Managed IT is $310 per supported user each month. Onboarding is quoted separately and usually starts around $4,400, depending on the environment and handover work.
10 supported users
$3,100 per month
25 supported users
$7,750 per month
50 supported users
$15,500 per month
Common questions
Useful details to know before you compare providers.
Will our current provider know we are leaving?
Yes. A proper handover normally requires communication with the outgoing provider. We agree the timing and responsibilities with you before that contact begins.
Can the old provider block the switch?
They can slow the process if access or documentation is incomplete. We identify missing items early, keep a written handover list and escalate decisions to the authorised client contact.
Will staff lose access during the change?
The plan is designed to keep normal work running. Access changes are sequenced and checked, but some disruption may be unavoidable where the inherited environment has gaps.
When is the old provider’s access removed?
After required access has been transferred, the agreed checks are complete and the client has approved the final cutover.

We will review the current setup and explain the likely timing, costs and risks before you decide. There is no need to start a handover until the plan makes sense.
